DESCRIPTION
The starting point of this course is to bring students to an overview of the Spanish culture, studying the most important aspects of its geography, culture and linguistic diversity through the division of Autonomous Communities. Also, the student is presented with a brief introduction to the historical context of each region, its festivals and its traditions while trying to break preconceived topics in students. Other topics of interest presented are food, folklore, art or famous people, among others. Cultural examples of each region allow reinforcing, through various individual and group activities, the basic communication skills. The aim is that students acquire intercultural awareness in an active learning process, to help them understand the influence of both culture and language in different contexts in Spain and to understand that cultural examples are essential when considering to master a language.
